Born at 23 weeks, 5 days, Kaden Carbajo miraculously survived. Every second counted as doctors saved his life. He weighed only 1 pound, 6 ounces at birth and was barely longer than a pencil. He also faced medical complications and health issues as a micro-preemie.
This made his parents, Tom and Janel, worry as to whether their son would survive, but they never wavered in defending him. They never gave up hope. They turned to God and prayed. They pulled strength from their faith, along with the support of family, friends, numerous nurses and doctors, and a loving community. Then Kaden defied the odds at every turn. He spent four months in the NICU and underwent several surgeries. Nurses said Kaden’s blood pressure reflected his pain. Family members noted Kaden's movement of his arms and legs revealed that he’s a fighter. A Lovable Fighter.
